N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Residents and interested individuals were invited out Monday afternoon to see the progress of the new sculpture going up at the Jamestown Arts Park.

Owen Fritts is the sculptor responsible for procuring the sculpture that he’s calling “Prairie Grass Ballet”. Fritts has been working on the piece for the past 5 weeks.

Fritts estimated that he would have roughly five of the 71 total pieces in the ground by Monday evening.

When asked about the estimated completion date of the sculpture, Fritts stated that October 15th is the latest it would be done. But he’s shooting for an October 1st finish.

Fritts stated that interested parties can feel free to come and watch him work, but if they had questions to refrain from taking him away from the project. There will be information on site for anyone who would like to learn more.
