CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) More than 300 contestants from around the state competed in the annual North Dakota Junior High and High School Rodeo last weekend in Valley City.
Two of three local students who participated won two events. Trenton Koch, a senior at Valley City High School won both days in the bull riding event.
Katie Bitz, a junior at Maple Valley High School captured first place both days in the Pole Bending event.
And Sage Kvien a sophomore at Valley City High School placed well during the North Dakota Junior High and High School Rodeo held last weekend in Valley City.
North Dakota Winter Show manager Dawn Riley said the event grows with more contestants every year. She said its great that rodeo events can be held in the indoor and outdoor arenas.
