Neb. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown football hit the road to Nebraska this weekend to battle Hastings College. The game turned into a track meet and the Broncos came away with a 44-34 victory.

Jamestown took a 15-10 lead with under two minutes remaining in the first half on a touchdown pass from Dylan Klatt to Zeb Taber. But, Hastings marched down and added another score before the break to seize the lead.

The lead changed hands three times in the second half. Keldrick Sullivan broke free on a 43-yard touchdown run to put Jamestown up 28-24. Sullivan finished with three rushing touchdowns and 157 yards on the ground.

Hastings scored 20 of the final 26 points to win the game. The offense for the Broncos was rolling with backup QB Cruz Samaniego. He replaced starting QB Jason Gaines for a couple drives in the first half and then took over for the entire second half. They added a field goal following a Jimmie punt with about 90 seconds left to ice the game.

Jamestown opens up North Star Athletic Association play next Saturday when they travel to Madison, S.D. to battle Dakota State. Kick-off is scheduled for 4pm.
