Hi-Liner Hall of Fame committee is pleased to announce the induction class for 2016.  This group of three individuals and one coach will be recognized during the VCHS homecoming parade and the homecoming football game on Friday September 23rd.

 

 

Chris Larson

Class of 2000

Chris was active primarily in football and track during his days as a Hi-Liner.  On the football field, Chris lettered on the varsity 3 years and was named to the All-Region and All-State teams following his senior season.  Track was where Chris excelled in both the sprints and the long jump.   As a three-time state-qualifier, Chris was a part of the state placing 800 m relay team as a sophomore.  As a junior Chris placed in three individual events at state, placing 7th in the 100 m, 6th in the 200 m, and a 2nd in the long jump.  As a senior, Chris had another outstanding state track meet, placing 3rd in the 100m, 3rd in the 200m, 3rd as a part of the 400 m relay team, and was the state champion in the long jump.

 

Philip Reidman

Class of 2000

Philip excelled as a wrestler during his days as a Hi-Liner.  Philip was a 6-year starter, two-time captain, and 5 time state qualifier.  Philip was two-time team MVP, named to the Academic All-State Wrestling team three times, and a two-time Bismarck Rotary Champion.    At the state-wrestling tournament, Philip was a three-time place winner, as a 2nd place finisher at 135 lbs. as a sophomore, state champion at 140 lbs. as a junior, and 3rd place at 145 lbs. as a senior.  In 2000, Philip was named the ND Amateur Wrestler of the Year.  After graduation from VCHS, Philip wrestled for four years at NDSU.

 

William Duppler

Class of 2001

William was a busy athlete while at VCHS, participating in football, wrestling, and track.  As a standout lineman on the football team, William was a three-year starter from 1998-2000.  William’s senior football season was highlighted by the following honors. William was named All-Region, All-State, and a selection to the 2001 El Zagal Shrine Bowl.  On the wrestling mat, William was a four time state qualifier, placing 3rd in 1999, 2nd in 2000, and capped his senior season as the state heavyweight champion with an undefeated record of 31-0.  William continued his athletic career as both a wrestler and track athlete at Concordia College from 2001-2005.

Amy Fitzner Stromswold

Class of 2001

Amy was standout on both the tennis court and the volleyball court during her days as a Hi-Liner.  In tennis Amy was a 5-year letter winner, 3-time individual state-qualifier, and a member of 5 state tournament teams, while also earning All-State honors two times.  In volleyball, Amy was a three-year letter winner, as well as an All-Conference and All-State performer following her senior season.    Amy was also selected as a member of the NDHSCA All Star Volleyball team in 2001.  Amy continued to compete in volleyball for the Concordia Cobbers in 2002-2004.

 

Emily Knodle Boarman

Class of 2001

Emily shined on both the tennis court and golf course while attending VCHS.  On the golf course Emily lettered 6 years and was a part of 6 state tournament teams.  She was also named All-Conference three times, All-Region twice, and All-State twice.  At the conclusion of her senior campaign, Emily was named ND Class A Outstanding Senior Golfer in the fall of 2000.   On the tennis court, Emily was also a 6 year letter winner, 6 time individual state qualifier, four time team MVP, and a member of 5 state tournament teams.  Emily was a four-time All Conference performer, and three-time All-State performer in tennis.
