N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Carrington Mayor Neil Fandrich gave several updates on numerous city items during an interview Wednesday with KDAK’s Greg Grenz.
Mayor Fandrich started with a report from some ladies from the newly named CHI Carrington Health Center.
Mayor Fandrich also reported that the city has finished up payments on the Carrington Airport addition.
Earlier this year, Mayor Fandrich reported some issues with the school sewer line. At this month’s council meeting, the issue was discussed further.
Fandrich stated that payment options will need to be discussed and the City Council voted down participation in paying some for the removal of the current sewer line. He stated that there were a couple of reasons for doing so.
Payment to move the line will come from the approved bids to build the new Carrington Elementary School.
Mayor Fandrich also took some time to welcome in new City Auditor Easton Page.
Foster County Tax Director Karen Evans came before the council to discuss a county-wide reassessment.
Other big news during the city council meeting was the annexation of over 160 acres of land into the city of Carrington, which includes Dakota Growers Pasta.
Mayor Fandrich gave an update on the Carrington City Fire Department as well.
The City is also still seeking a Library Director. Interested individuals can contact the city of Carrington at 701-652-2911.
