(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High football team is making their way through the WDA for what will be final time for a the known future in high school football. The Jays are headed to Class AA football in 2017 and 2018 and possibly beyond. West Region play opened Friday night with a 42-7 loss to Minot. 

Jamestown turned it over on their first two offensive snaps of the game and both were quickly turned into Minot touchdowns. The Magi jumped out to a 14-0 lead and never looked back. 

Sophomore quarterback Mason Wolters got to play the entirety of the second half after Brian Opsahl left with an injury. Wolters threw his first touchdown pass to John Horgan late in the fourth quarter. 

The Jays are on the road in Williston next week to take on the Coyotes. They return home in two weeks against Dickinson for homecoming.
