(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High School football team ended the non-region part of the 2016 with a 40-0 lost at Harvey on Friday night against the Harvey/Wells County Hornets.

The Hornets (2-1) capitalized on three Tornado turnovers in the first half, and had two interceptions returned for scores in the contest. After a solid showing in a loss to Larimore last week, Oakes (0-3) never really found momentum after the early turnovers and a myriad of penalties throughout the game.

Oakes commences Class A Region I play on Saturday, September 17 in Fargo against Oak Grove. Coverage on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com starts at 1:30 p.m., with kickoff set for 2.
