CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Two more multi-family apartment dwellings will be built in Valley City after the city commission approved the applications for commercial property tax incentives for the new businesses at their regular meeting on September 6th.

Valley City developer George Gaukler and others plan to build a second 36 unit complex just west of an existing one along Winter Show Road. The developer said a third 36 unit apartment is also in the planning stage.

Meanwhile another developer, Diane Weick and a group of others plan to build a 40 unit complex on east main near the South Central Adult Services garage in Valley City.

Area Economic Development Director Jennifer Feist says these projects will help fill the increasing demand for affordable housing in Valley City.

Earlier this year the Valley City School board voted to support the property tax exemption which phases out after 10 years on these new properties soon to be under construction in Valley City.
