(NewsDakota.com) The defending North Dakota State Class B Volleyball Champions have started the 2016 season with a 3-0 mark and a 1-0 record in District 5 play after a three games to none sweep on the road Thursday night.
LaMoure swept Oakes by scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-23.
LaMoure finished the match with 12 aces, lead by Ellie Holen with four aces. The Loboes had 28 kills with Anna Holen leading the way with 12. Oakes had four aces in the match, Bella Hansen had two of them, and the Tornadoes picked up 28 kills; Shelby Roney had 12 kills.
Both teams return to District 5 play next week. LaMoure will host Ellendale on Tuesday, while Oakes (2-1, 0-1 Class B District 5) and Edgeley/Kulm meet on Thursday in Oakes. Coverage of Oakes and Edgeley/Kulm will start around 7 p.m. on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com.
