N.D. (AP) – A group that opposes a 9,000-hog farm planned near Buffalo is going to court.

The state Health Department last month issued a permit to Minnesota-based Pipestone Holdings for the $15 million Rolling Green Family Farms hog facility.

Many of the town’s 200 residents worry about potential soil, water and air pollution. Lee Ann Stout with Concerned Citizens of Buffalo tells KFGO Radio that the group will ask a judge to block the project by rescinding the permit.

State officials have said the hog farm will meet state standards, and that the permit includes conditions to address concerns about odors and potential water contamination.
