(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High volleyball team returned 12 players from the 2015 version of the team that was knocked out of the WDA tournament in the state qualifier by Legacy, who made their first trip to the big dance.

The Jays opened up their season on Tuesday night against those same Sabers, who have their entire team back. Legacy won a five-setter (26-24, 22-25, 26-24, 22-25, 15-9). Jamestown had set point in both the first and third sets.

Courtney Peterson paced the Jays with 20 kills. They will host an improved Minot team on Friday night. The Magi lost a four set match to Bismarck last night.
