CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City defeated Davies in 4 sets (25-23, 25-17, 24-26, 25-20) to win their 1st home match of the season. The Hi-Liners overcame a slow start in game 1 to get the victory 25-23 and carried that momentum into the next set winning 25-17. Needing to win to continue the match, Davies raced out to an 8 point lead 20-12 in the 3rd set when Valley City began to rally. Tied at 24, the Eagles got the side out and went to the service line. They scored the winning point and took the set 26-24. The 4th set went back and forth with 5 ties; finally Valley City began to pull away and Macy Olstad put the ball through a double block to record the winning point in the 25-20 win. 

Olstad finished the night with 10 kills, 2nd behind team leader Mackenzie Pederson who collected 18. Reagan Ingstad had 26 assists and 32 digs. Kacee White had 47 digs with Lexi Ondracek adding 27. Valley City improved to 5-2 and gets their 1st win in EDC play. They travel to Fargo North on Thursday, that match will be on KOVC and Newsdakota.com.
