Schroeder, 79, Edgeley, ND, formerly of the Alfred, ND community died Thursday afternoon, August 25, 2016 at his home in Edgeley surrounded by his family.

Lloyd Dayton Schroeder was born December 5, 1936 at Gackle, ND, the son of Fred F. Schroeder and Rosie (Hauff) Schroeder. He received his elementary education and grew to manhood helping on the family farm.

He entered the United States Navy in October of 1955. He completed Boot Camp at Great Lakes Naval Center and was stationed at Moffett Field Naval Station in California. He served on the USS Yorktown and was discharged January 1958.

He and Deloris Gohner were married November 27, 1958 at the Alfred Church of God. They made their home in Lincoln, NE where Lloyd was a ceramic tile setter for 10 years. They returned to North Dakota and bought a farm where they built a dairy barn and milked cows for 30 years. He also worked for Entzminger Dairy and Tommy Wegner.

Lloyd was a member of the Church of God 7th Day in Alfred, ND; He was an avid sports fan cheering for the Twins, Vikings and Timberwolves. He loved to travel and enjoyed flea markets. He also found that gardening was relaxing. He also enjoyed the feisty card games with Laverne and Gordon. He truly loved his family and his German Shepherds.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Deloris, Edgeley, ND; his children, Terri (Kevin) Dais, Edgeley, ND, Jacki Lippert, Lincoln, NE, and Richard (Sara) Schroeder, Enderlin, ND; 5 grandchildren, Petty Officer First Class Adam Lippert, Japan, Kyle Lippert, Lincoln, NE, Alex Dais, Fargo, ND, and Jake and Maddison, Enderlin; and 2 sisters and 1 brother, Stella Hehn, Jamestown, ND, Violet Hehn, Lincoln, NE, and Duane (Linda) Schroeder, Yankton, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Roy and Ben, and 1 son-in-law, Greg Lippert.
