The department distributed $219,600 between both the Glen Ullin Municipal Airport Authority and Oakes Municipal Airport Authority for their respective projects. Glen Ullin will use $180,000 of the funds to conduct an aeronautical survey for area navigation (RNAV) approach. RNAV is a navigational method that can reduce congestion, conserve flight distance and allow flights into airports without beacons.
Oakes recieved $36,000 to help fund design engineering for a 1,600 square foot snow removal equipment building and a 480 square foot general aviation terminal building.
