JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department is warning residents of a high risk, convicted sex offender who has changed addresses within the city limits.

37 year-old Ramon Martinez Jr. is currently living in a tent at the Frontier Fort Campground in Jamestown. He is a white male, 5’06”, 150 lbs with black hair and brown eyes. He has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee.

Mr. Martinez was convicted of corrupt/solicitation of a minor in 2001 when he provided alcohol to a 16 year-old girl and then had intercourse with her. The girl reported that they had intercourse two other times when she was 15. He was also charged with the same count four months later after being released from prison when he had intercourse with a 15 year old girl in Fargo.

Mr. Martinez is not currently wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court. This notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community. Any attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten these offenders or their families will result in prosecution.
