CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) A fee increase for new water and sewer line hook ups in Valley City was approved by the city commission on August 16th in a 3 to 1 vote.

But Valley City Commissioner Dewey Magnuson voted against the motion. He doesn’t believe its the right thing to do for the citizens of Valley City.

Valley City Administrator David Schelkoph says one example is a $600 charge for a one inch water line. He says a majority of the residential lines in Valley City are one inch in diameter.

Once again the fee hookup increase will be implemented for new water and sewer line hookups in Valley City and does not affect current Valley City residential water and sewer line charges or fees.
