FORKS, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Southeast and south central North Dakota as well as north central and northeast South Dakota received storm damage and heavy rain August 10th-11th.

National Weather Service forecasters say heavy rain and wind gusts estimated at 70 to 80 miles an hour were reported close to the North Dakota-South Dakota border.

Wind gusts damaged buildings in Strasburg, North Dakota including a school addition under construction. And a convenience story in Ipswich, South Dakota lost part of a roof according to the associated press.

Water covered portions of Highway 11 west of Ellendale, North Dakota as 7 to 11 inches of rainfall was reported in that area of Dickey County.

August 10th, Oakes reported 3 to 4 inches of rainfall. Valley City had 1 to 2 inches, Jamestown airport 1.93 and 2.68 reported northeast of Jamestown, Carrington .75, Ellendale 2.25, Litchville 1.40, Forbes 2.80, Pillsbury .75, Lisbon 2.15, Coopertown .70, Dazey 1.06, Fingal 1.26 inches, Finley .63, Fargo .66 and Grand Forks reported .41 inches of rainfall on August 10th.

On August 11th, Carrington had 2.05 inches, Cooperstown 2.16, Dazey 1.10, Ellendale 10.89, Edgeley 1.72, Forbes 6.98, Fargo .64, Fingal .97, Finley 1.63, Grand Forks 1.69, Jamestown 2.75, Valley City .25, Linton 2.63, Monango 5.10, Marion, 1.78, Oakes 3.20, Pillsbury 1.87, Streeter 1.29, Wahpeton 3.29, Wishek .94 and Wyndwere 1.98.
