(NEWSDAKOTA.COM)- Valley City was outmatched by Henderson, NV in an elimination game falling 6-1 to end their 2016 season. Henderson scored a run in the 3rd inning,3 runs in the 5th and added 2 more in the 7th. Valley City’s lone run came in the 6th when Jesse Johnson scored Justin Manson with a single.
Henderson starter CJ Dornak went 7 innings and scattering 2 hits with 9Ks. Rylee Bjork took the loss after pitching 5 innings; he ends the post season 3-1 with a save. Johnson pitched the final 2 frames. Valley City wrapped up their regular season 11-23 and were seeded 8th in the east division. Over the course of 3 weeks then went from a division play in game to Class A State Champions.
