(NewsDakota.com) The certified public accountant for the City of Oakes has indicated that the city may face “financially hard” times in the coming years if changes are not made.
West Fargo CPA Harold Rotunda addressed the Oakes City Council on Monday night; reporting on the city’s 2015 audit. Rotunda stated that the present financial condition of the city was fine, but advised the Council to look at options on how to build reserves and increase revenue in order to provide adequate operation and maintenance for current city services in the next few years.
In other Council news, Mayor Monty Zimmer announced plans to finish his current term, and stated he would not seek re-election in June of 2018.
