(University of Jamestown Sports Information) – University of Jamestown men’s basketball coach Danny Neville announces the signings of Aaron Peterson and Kiwane Crowder, who will join the Jimmies in the 2016-17 season.
Peterson attended Brookhaven College in Texas, his freshman season, then played last season at Missouri Valley. Peterson, a 6’9” center, averaged 7 points and 5 rebounds in 2015-16. Aaron is originally from New Boston, Texas.
Coach Neville says, “Aaron is a guy we needed for this year. At 6’9″ he will help us in a variety of ways. He is a freak athlete and a team-first guy. We expect some big things from him this season.”
Crowder, a 6’2” junior college transfer, averaged 10.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while playing at Joliet College. Crowder shot 40% from three-point range and 83% from the free throw line. As a freshman, Kiwane attended Mesabi Range Junior College, averaging 15.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He is originally from Milwaukee, Wis.
Coach Neville says, “Kiwane is exactly what we needed in a guard. He can defend at a high level and rebounds really well at the guard spot. He’s a proven scorer and leader. The Jimmies are very excited to have Kiwane at Jamestown.”
