N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – State lawmakers have returned to Bismarck for a three day budget fixing session.
They’ll tackle a projected $310 million shortfall.
Governor Dalrymple has laid out his proposal in a single bill. It includes another $152 million in spending cuts, plus taking money out of the budget stabilization fund, and up to $100 million out of the Bank of North Dakota’s profits.
Dalrymple says he’s optimistic that proposal will pass.
That bill will be the subject of a joint hearing of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees this afternoon. The Senate is scheduled to vote on the bill tomorrow, and the House will get it Thursday.
