N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Tourism Board unanimously approved funds to re-paint “Dakota Thunder”, the World’s Largest Buffalo.

On Monday, July 26th, discussion took place on what path to take in regards to the monument. Jamestown Tourism Executive Director Searle Swedlund stated that they will be waiting with the renovations until the tourism season has died down.

Denny & Sons LLC bid $8,500 to undertake the project. They will fix some of the joints and cracks as well as paint the monument. Swedlund pointed out that this may be the last time they paint over the current layer.

Because of this, Interstate Engineering analyzed the monument and informed the board that this would need to be their last layer of paint to add.

Swedlund stated that the board would be saving back and budgeting for the large project, which will be within approximately the next 10 years.
