N.D.  (NewsDakota.com)  The Hatton Flyers Post 70 Legion Baseball team drew first blood in the bottom of the second inning scoring one run and that’s all they would need as they beat New Rockford Post 30 in a pitching dual 1-0.  NR ends their season at 13-14-1, Hatton improves to 14-14.  

Josh McKnight took the loss, working six innings, one run, five hits, six strikeouts, one hit batter and no walks.  Landin Workin was the winner, working seven innings throwing a four-hit shutout.  Kaleb Haley, Ben Makay, Cole Myhre and McKnight all had one hit each for Post 30.  Mavrik Hedland was 2-for-2 at the plate for the Flyers, Lucas Mohn had a double and scored the only run of the game in the second inning.  

Hatton will take on Gardner at 5:30pm today (July 22), the winner will take on Carrington on Saturday at noon for the Central Region Championship and will also qualify for the State Legion Tourney in Carrington starting Wednesday, July 27th.  AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com will have coverage of the Legion championship game right after the Carrington State Babe Ruth game in Grafton.
