N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Tourism Grant and Executive Advisory board met Thursday to review grant requests for 2017.
Grant requests were made by several organizations and entities. You can view each request and how much was allocated to each request below.
Big Guns of the Old West – The Fort Seward Reconstruction Committee requested $1,000 for the Gatling gun demonstration and publicity to be held September 17th at Fort Seward. It’s estimated that 10 percent of those in attendance will be from out of town. The board fully funded the project.
Jamestown Fine Arts Association – The Jamestown Arts Center asked for $2,000 for the Hansen Art Park and Saturday Art Activities. The full amount was approved.
Stutsman County Trail builders – The Stutsman County park Board requested $1,055.85 for maintenance equipment for Jamestown Dam, Mountain Biking and hiking the Split Rock and Overlook trailers. The board voted to fund $1,100.
North Dakota Patriot Guard – The guard requested $2,500 for advertising, posters, and mailings to veteran organizations in the state for the upcoming Fallen Heroes Memorial Ride on August 12th & 13th. The event is predicted to bring in a large amount of people from out of town. The board approved the entire amount.
The board now has $32,629 in funds to allocate to local organizations out of the $150,000 they started with this year.
In other business, the board approved the budget request to be presented to the Jamestown City Council in the amount of $190,700 for operating and salary expenses.
