N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Foster County Emergency Management has planned an active shooter exercise on Wednesday, July 27th at the Carrington High School.

The exercise will be for training purposes only. Foster County Emergency Manager Jess Earle says several departments will be involved and will treat the exercise like a true-to-life situation.

Earle reports that it’s been a while since they last held an exercise like this. She described what first responders and emergency officials would be facing during the active shooting exercise training.

The training is expected to begin at 8:30 AM Wednesday morning. Earle says if you see the emergency crews, ambulances and police at the school during that time, it will be just for the training and there is no need to call 911.
