N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – One of only four farmers in the state that grow hemp will be hosting a field show on July 20th in Adrian, North Dakota.

Jamie Edwards started growing the crop just this year and was accepted into the Industrial Hemp Program through the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. Edwards pointed out that the program is in a pilot phase.

Edwards stated that he and his father grow 15 acres of the crop together, making it 30 acres total. He pointed out that they got involved to have hemp as a sideline crop.

Jeff Kostuik, Director of Operations for Hemp Genetics International, will be a speaker along with Associate Plant Breeder Keith Watson with Parkland Industrial Hemp Growers. Edwards stated that individuals will have a chance to learn about the different things hemp is used for.

The field show will be at 8438 59th Street Southeaest in Adrian from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. To get to the farm, head 25 miles South on Highway 281 from Jamestown. Turn East at Nortonville Corner and go 2.5 miles.
