N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Post 25 improves to 9-1 in the Class B Central Region and currently tied for first place with Gardner after sweeping Hope/Finley on Thursday night 11-0 and 4-3. Carrington is 10-3-1 overall, HF falls to 2-7 and 6-12 overall.
First game: Carrington 11 Hope/Finley 0, 10-run rule in six innings
Starting pitcher Easton Paeper picked up the victory on the mound and also helped his own cause hitting a 3-run home run in the sixth inning to help Post 25 secure the victory. On the mound, Paeper threw a 2-hit shutout against Hope/Finley Post 12 & 18. At the plate, Paeper was 1-for-3 with four RBI and a sacrifice, the home run he hit was his fourth of the year Ethan Jacobson and Dawson Rings had one hit each for Hope/Finley. John Lee suffered the loss.
Second game: Carrington 4 Hope/Finley 3
Carrington was down 3-0 going into the fifth inning, they would score two runs in the home half of the fifth and then score another two runs in the sixth to take the lead after a two-out, two RBI single off the bat of Brett Lyman. Brady Smith was the winning pitcher, working all seven innings, with three runs, seven hits, eight strikeouts and no walks. Ethan Jacobson took the loss. Hunter Huschka and Jacobson had two hits each for Post 12 & 18.
