CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Panic buttons will be installed in the city offices of Valley City later this year, four in city hall and one in the municipal court room.
Earlier this year City Attorney Russell Myhre said he supported the idea of installing panic buttons following concerns from city employees who were threatened by citizens.
Valley City Administrator David Schelkoph says once a panic button is pushed a law enforcement officer would respond immediately.
The Valley City commission approved of purchasing five panic buttons from Electro Watchman for a total cost of $3,805 at last night’s meeting.
