Vigesaa, 86, Jamestown ND, died July 6, 2016 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center in Jamestown, ND.

Eileen was born on August 18, 1929 to Alfred and Mary Olson, Litchville, ND. After attending Valley City Teacher’s College, she taught at Prairie School District, Sheldon and Regent, ND.

Eileen married Vernon on June 30, 1950, and they operated a grain and dairy farm in Kensal until their retirement in 1986. After Vernon passed away in February 2015, Eileen moved to an apartment in Jamestown.

Gaining an understanding of the Bible and God’s personal plan for her life was of high importance to Eileen. Her focus nearly every day was to reach out to others through her letter writing. Her special influence is felt by the deep interest and love she expressed and demonstrated to every life she touched.

Eileen is survived by 6 children, Myron Vigesaa (Nancy), Kensal, ND, Barbara Wegter (Henry), Fargo, ND, Claire Vigesaa (Jill), Sidney, MT, Carolyn Oetken, Sioux Falls, SD, Marsha Erickson, Duluth, MN, and Lana Bernat (Valent), Schofield Barracks, HI. She has 19 grandchildren: Myron’s (Nathan, Ryan, Aaron, Karsten, Jenna), Barbara’s (Brett), Claire’s (Danika, Deni, Duran), Carolyn’s (Michaela, Heath), Marsha’s (Jade, Daniel), and Lana’s (Morgan, Kira, Weston, Trenton, Nora, Ila). She has 9 great-grandchildren: Nathan’s (Carter, Brooks, Asher), Ryan’s (Ella), Brett’s (Brody), Danika’s (Eliza, Harper), and Michaela’s (Adelyn, Gavin). Eileen is also survived by 3 brothers, Richard Olson, Eugene Olson (Laurine), and Dennis Olson (Lorna); and 1 sister-in-law, Marcella Olson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 1 brother, Leslie Olson, and 1 sister-in-law, Rebecca Olson.

The family wishes to express their appreciation for the loving care provided by the staff at the Legacy Center and Jamestown Regional Medical Center. The many kind expressions extended by friends during Eileen’s recent illness are greatly appreciated.

Visitation – 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, July 8 @ Haut Funeral Home, Jamestown

Interment – Kensal Cemetery at Kensal, ND
