Pederson, age 88, of Valley City, ND, died Friday, July 1st at Mercy Hospital in Valley City.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 7th at Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church and one hour before the service Thursday afternoon.  A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday evening at the church.  Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City.

Marcyne Anna Marler, the daughter of James E. and Margaret (Zaun) Marler, was born February 23, 1928 in the rural Rogers, Dazey, ND area.  Marcyne grew up and attended school at Stewart School in Stewart Township.  Marcyne moved into Valley City and worked for a time at Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store and Kings Photography Studio.  On December 8, 1951 she married Dale Duane Pederson in Valley City.  The couple made their home on the Pederson Farm south of Valley City.  Marcyne was a member of Nebo Lutheran Church and was a current member of Faith Lutheran Church.  She was also a member of the Marsh Homemakers Club.  Marcyne was a dedicated farm wife and mother.  She helped with milking cows, gardening, cooking meals, taking care of her cats and calves and was a loving and caring mother.  She was a great cook that was known to always have a great meal.  Marcyne’s greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and being with her family.  She enjoyed playing cards, playing bingo, watching the Minnesota Twins and her love of animals.  She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Marcyne is survived by her children, Nancy (Alan) Sorensen, Valley City, ND, Linda (Lynn) Janisch, Moorhead, MN, Neil (Kelly) Pederson and Dean (Amy) Pederson, all Valley City, ND; grandchildren, Erin (Ryan) Metcalf, Krista (Mark) Johnson, Alison Sorensen (Cory Rodin), Nikki (Lars) Seljevold, Jaymie (Joe) Emmerich, Melissa Pederson (Nathan Cook), Mackenzie, Peyton and Carver Pederson; great-grandchildren, Brody and Anna Metcalf, Jack and Mason Emmerick and Own Johnson; brothers, Dallas (Nancy) Marler and Allen (Betty) Marler; brother-in-law, Allen Pedersen; and several nieces and nephews.

Marcyne was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, one brother Eugene, one sister Inez (Reynold) Peterson and two sisters-in-law Freda Pedersen and Margaret Lundeby.
