A. Spitzer, 92, Bismarck, ND died Wednesday afternoon June 29, 2016 at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND.
Lorraine Buchert was born October 9, 1923 at Max, ND, the daughter of Jacob Buchert and Katherine (Wagner) Buchert. She received her elementary education in the local school where she grew to womanhood.
She and Helmuth Spitzer were married June 3, 1945 at Max, ND. They made their home on the farm 8 ½ miles west of Streeter where they farmed. In 1987 they moved into Streeter for their retirement. Helmuth passed away Dec. 4, 1999. Lorraine continued to reside in Streeter until 2001.
She and Elmer Zwicker were married February 10, 2001. They made their home in rural Cole Harbor, ND until July 2008 when they moved to Valley View Heights in Bismarck. Following the death of her husband, December 31, 2012 she continued to live in Bismarck. In 2013 she entered the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center.
She is survived by 1 son, Randy (Wanda) Spitzer, Mandan, ND and 1 daughter, Karla (Scott Friedman) Spitzer, Somis, CA; 3 grandchildren, Lorri (Chris) Strand, Kalispell, MT, Jason Spitzer, Sierra Vista, AZ, and Shawn Spitzer, Westminster, CO; and 2 great grandchildren, Zachary and Ethan Strand. She is also survived by her step daughters, Beverly (Don) Helm, rural Denhoff, ND, and Arlyce (Mike) Malarkey, Bismarck, ND; 2 step grandsons, Jason (Brandi) Malarkey and their daughter, Landra, Fargo, ND, and David (Janessa) Malarkey and their daughter, Addison, Bismarck, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
Funeral Service – 2:00 PM Thursday, July 7, 2016 in the Missouri Slope Lutheran Home in Bismarck, ND, with Chaplain Rebecca Aardahl, officiating
Interment – 4:30 PM at the Zion UCC Cemetery west of Streeter, ND
Visitation – 9:00-5:00 PM Wednesday at Haut Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND
