(NewsDakota.com) The Lidgerwood Post 84 American Legion baseball team won their second southeast region game on Thursday night, rallying to defeat Oakes Post 36 3-2.

Lidgerwood (2-9 Southeast Region) scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth as Alix Wisnewski came home from third. Two of the three runs scored were unearned.

Oakes (4-7) certainly had their chances, stranding 10 runners on base, including runners on third and second when the last out was registered. Grayson Roney took the hard luck loss, striking out two.

Blake Hollingsworth had the best day at the plate for Post 36; three for four with three hits and a run scored. Oakes’ next game is Thursday, July  7 when Post 36 welcomes LaMoure Post 19. Coverage on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com starts at 6:45, with first pitch at 7 p.m.
