N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An 18 month old boy was found Thursday afternoon after wandering a few hours earlier into a cornfield near his family’s farm near Ellendale.

Dickey County Emergency Manager Charlie Russell says the search started around midday Thursday. Russell confirmed to NewsDakota that the boy was found safely.

“He was in the corn field on the far west side, which is  a quarter mile, almost half a mile from where he started in.”

The boy, DJ,  was missing for four hours before he was found by searchers on the ground next to a river. Roughly 60 people were involved in the search.
