N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Game & Fish Department is reminding state residents to engage in water safety over the holiday weekend and the summer.
The National Safe Boating Council warns boaters that most drowning victims had a life jacket available, but entered the water without one. Game & Fish Biologist Doug Leier says they highly encourage individuals to outfit themselves and kids with life vests.
Leier pointed out that it’s easy to take your eyes of the kids when relaxing or chatting with friends and family. He says that safety is important and that the department wants everyone to get out and enjoy the summer and Fourth of July weekend.
