N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Every year, the Dickey County Emergency Management office tries to bring in something to show off at the fair.

Emergency Manager Charlie Russell says this year, the North Dakota Department of Health has brought in a section of their Military Inflatable Hospital and one of their Mobile Command Units for the public to see.

“Most citizens have little or no knowledge of what ND Dept of Health (NDDOH) can bring to an emergency.” Charlie pointed out. “They maintain regionally huge stockpiles of supplies, equipment and rosters of personnel which allows them to restock, augment an existing hospital, or set up and replace a hospital, totally re-establishing medical care within a few hours anywhere in the state.”

John Paul Martin, Chief Warning Meteorologist with the Bismarck National Weather Service, will also be on hand to educate and teach about anything weather related. Russell encourages those at the fair this year to take time and meet folks to work tirelessly to keep residents safe and prepared.

The Dickey County Fair runs July 8th through the 10th on the South edge of Ellendale.
