N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of the man found dead on the railroad tracks near Leeds, North Dakota Saturday, June 25th.
According to Sgt. Adam Dvorak, the Highway Patrol and Benson County Sheriff’s Department responded to the report of a train/pedestrian crash in Leeds. The report was made by BNSF Railroad employees who saw what appeared to be a body on the tracks.
55 year-old Scott Craig Nelson of Leeds was found on the railroad tracks. Troopers report that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Benson County Coroner responded to the scene.
There is no suspicion of foul play and no danger to the public.
