CITY,ND (NEWSDAKOTA.COM)-Valley City Post 60 finished the weekend 3-1 in The Leevers Classic at Charlie Brown Field. Down 9-0 in their 1st game Saturday against Hillsboro/Central Valley Post 60 used a 6 run 6th inning to come from behind and win 10-9. Justin Manson was 2-3 with 3 RBIs , he drove in the winning run with a double in the 6th. Rylee Bjork got the win in relief. Valley City faced Hope/Finley to finish up day 1. Jesse Johnson cruised to a 5-1 complete game victory striking out 12 and scattering 3 hits.
Sunday Valley City played New Rockford/Sheyenne. Dalton Ondracek plated Tanner Thomsen with a single in the bottom of the 7th for an 8-7 walk off win. Alex Milender led the offense with 2 hits and 4 RBIs. Nate Rodriguez pitched 2 innings of relief and was the winning pitcher. Post 60 faced Jamestown to close out The Leevers Classic. Valley City trailed 11-10 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th when Rodriguez brought home the tying run with a single to force extra innings. Jamestown scored twice in the top of the 10th and Valley City could not find the equalizer in their half of the inning and lost 13-11. Rylee Bjork was 2-4 with 3 RBIs.
Post 60 travels to West Fargo Thursday for a double header with The Aces. First pitch is set for 5:30.
