N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – 64 dogs are recovering after being rescued from unfit conditions in Barnes County, but more monetary donations are needed to help care for the animals.
These dogs have had a make-shift home in Valley City since last week thanks to Prairie Paws Rescue.
Kaye Johns, co-founder of Prairie Paws Rescue, said volunteers are needed including monetary donations.
Johns says they have enough dog food so right now they are asking for monetary donations to help with the expense of caring for the animals.
If you would like to help, you can contact Prairie Paw Rescue by phone at (701) 320-4553 and by email at prairiepawsrescue@hotmail.com.
According to court records, Karl and Ginger Helland of Kathryn, North Dakota are both facing a misdemeanor animal neglect charge in the case. Those charges are still pending with the Barnes County State’s Attorney’s Office. Ginger Helland was found not guilty of a similar charge in 2014.
