N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Summertime is here and kids are always looking for more to do. Sadly, more parents are also trying to find ways to feed their children.
The Summer Meals for Kids & Teens is a program held yearly at Washington Elementary to help feed teens and kids over the course of the summer. Kerrie Soulis, Summer coordinator for the Most Program, heads up the summer meal program.
Soulis stated that the staff they have on for the program are also involved in the school system, so the meals provided over the course of the summer are similar to those that kids see during the regular school year.
The meals are available for kids ages 18 and younger with no enrollment or cost of the parents or child. Breakfast is served from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM and lunch is served from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM. The summer meal program will continue through July 29th. The program is sponsored and funding by the United States Department of Agriculture.
