CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Barnes County Sheriff’s Department, along with the help of Prairie Paws Rescue, have seized 64 canines from a Barnes County property.

An investigation by the North Dakota State Veterinarian’s Office ended in a recommendation that the canine animals be confiscated from the premises. Prairie Paws Rescue out of Jamestown has volunteered to assist the Barnes County Sheriff’s Department in caring for the animals during the ongoing investigation.

Prairie Paws Rescue is asking for donations of toys, treats, dog food, and chew bones for the dogs. Monetary donations are also being accepted to help with expenses such as gas, transport, paper towels and other supplies for maintaining temporary kennels.
