N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Kiwanis President Katie Ryan-Anderson has been appointed as the public relations coordinator for the district, which includes North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota.

The position was created to raise public awareness about the club’s service to children, broaden name recognition and provide information about leadership opportunities. Anderson says she is one of several in the U.S. to be named to this position.

Anderson traveled to Los Angeles in April with 25 other Kiwanians from the state to train for the new position. She points out that with her background in journalism, she hopes to provide more help to Kiwanis club’s in her area.

Anderson said she is honored to be given this opportunity to help.

Kiwanis has nearly 600,000 members nationwide and the clubs raise more than $100 million to help serve children.
