N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – What was supposed to be a one-time event has grown into a tradition for the Fort Seward Wagon Train.
In 1969, Mary Young and her husband created the wagon train that featured history talks, camping and nature lore. Board member Lacey Kaiser says the event was very popular.
The wagon train features authentic canvas covered wagons pulled by a team of horses and welcomes all families and individuals to participate. Kaiser says they try to keep the wagon train off the beaten path.
Kaiser pointed out that the group will travel upwards of 75 total miles through the week.
The wagons will depart from Fort Seward in Jamestown on Sunday, June 19th and return back to the fort on the 25th. For more information, click here.
