N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The annual Birding Drives Dakota is slated to begin Wednesday June 8th and is expected to bring in hundreds of bird watchers from all over the world.

North Dakota is home to nearly 320 species of birds, and some of those birds are native only to the state. Secretary and Treasurer of the Birding Drives Dakota Board Laurie Dietz says the festivities begin on Wednesday.

Dietz stated that the Birding Drives Dakota even brings in individuals from other countries.

The Prairie Pothole Region has also been listed in to bestselling books: “Fifty Places to Go Birding Before You Die” and “1000 Places to See Before You Die: A Traveler’s Life List.”
