N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – State troopers with the North Dakota Highway Patrol conducted saturation patrols in Cass, Barnes, and Stutsman counties over the weekend.
Sgt. Luke Hendrickson reports that patrols in the southeast region increased patrols Friday, May 27th and Saturday, May 28th to crack down on drunk drivers. The weekend effort resulted in over 60 charges. They include:
6 – DUI arrests
1 – Minor in Possession arrest
8 – Open Container citations
22 – Driving Without Insurance citations
2 – Felony drug arrests
13 – Misdemeanor drug arrests
9 – Driving Under Suspension arrests
1 – Carrying a Concealed Weapon arrest
The patrol reports that in 2016, nearly half of North Dakota traffic fatalities have been alcohol-related.
