N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It was their last formal debate before the June 14th primary.
The two leading Republican candidates for Governor – Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem and Fargo businessman Doug Burgum – are competing to see who will go on to the November election.
In their Fargo debate last night, the two sparred over the status of the state budget – in the wake of allotments. Stenehjem says while things are tight, there’s no crisis.
Burgum questioned that.
The two also disagreed over how North Dakota’s economy is doing. Stenehjem says despite the downturn in oil and agriculture, the economy’s fundamentals remain strong, while Burgum says the state’s economy is changing.
