N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Voters in the Carrington School District approved of a plan to build a new elementary school during a special election on May 24th.

According to the Carrington School Twitter account voters unofficially approved two school bond issues on the May 24th ballot.

Unofficial results from school bond question number 1:  Yes 823, 64%  No 468, 36%  Total votes 1293. The vote passed.

Unofficial results from question 2:  Yes 793, 61%   No 497 39% Total Votes 1293. Vote passed.  Under North Dakota law 60 percent or more is need to pass a school bond issue.

Superintendent Brian Duchscherer stated that the new project has cut some items and will cost a bit less than the first project proposal.

He also pointed out there isn’t much difference between this special vote and the previous one, which was defeated by the public.
