N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Fire Department has reported their call log for the week of May 6th through the 12th.
According to Fire Chief Jim Reuther, the call amount crossed the century mark on May 12th with the 100th call for service coming from a fire alarm at St. John’s Academy. There have been a total of 100 calls so far for 2016, compared to 296 total calls in 2015. You can find a full list of times, dates and descriptions of each call responded to by the department below.
Call No. 94 May 7th, 3:05AM, ready squad responded to 332 5th Ave SW, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 0 ppm was detected. Cause-faulty detector. Time out 25 minutes.
Call No. 95 May 8th, 9:00PM, ready squad responded to 421 18th St NE, Ava Maria Village, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-steam from cooking. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 25 minutes.
Call No. 96 May 10th, 1:20PM, ready squad responded to 120 1st St East, at the request of Jamestown PD. Firefighters assisted other agencies with the removal of person/s from roof. No injuries reported. Time out 25 minutes.
Call No. 97 May 10th, 3:10PM, ready squad responded to 309 21st Ave NE, Single family Dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 0 ppm was detected. Cause-unknown. Time out 15 minutes.
Call No. 98 May 11th, 2:24PM, ready squad responded to 806 3rd Ave NE, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate strange noise in garage. Firefighters checked the area and found portable jump starting unit malfunctioning. Cause-battery shorted out in unit. Time out 30 minutes.
Call No. 99 May 12th, 2:38AM, ready squad responded to 501 19th St NE, Ava Maria Village, to investigate smoke alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-roasting pan. Smoke alarm was reset. Time out 45 minutes.
