N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown Wind Ensemble is traveling the world for the first time in its history with planned stops in Scotland and Ireland.
The band is comprised of music majors, music minors, non-majors and community members. Dr. Laura Zamzow Lynch is Director of Instrumental Music and the Wind Ensemble. The band left the U.S. on Sunday, May 8th and arrived Monday in Scotland. In an update from Edinburgh, Dr. Lynch stated on Monday that they have a full schedule for the entire week.
Dr. Lynch stated that some of the performances for the ensemble will have them collaborating with other bands from the area.
The trip has already created some memories according to Dr. Lynch. She stated that their first meal features some animal meat specific to the area.
The band will travel to Edinburgh, St. Andrews, and Dublin. They plan to return to the U.S. by Sunday, May 16th.
