Lenora Whipple, 96, Jamestown, ND died Saturday night, May 7, 2016 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown, ND.

Charolette was born November 25, 1919 near Ypsilanti, ND, the daughter of George and Gertrude (Ellingson) Berge. She grew up and attended school in Ypsilanti and graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1938.

She and Lawrence Whipple were married in 1940. They lived on a farm southeast of Ypsilanti where they farmed for many years. Following the death of her husband in 1966, she continued to live on the farm until moving into Jamestown in 1983. She entered Eventide at Hi-Acres in August of 2015.

She was a member of the Ypsilanti Lutheran Church until it closed in 1992. She then joined Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown. She belonged to the “Good Neighbors Club”. Charolette did many quilts and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by 3 sons, Loren (Betty) Whipple and Kim (LaVon) Whipple, both of Fargo, ND, and Stacey (Char Kapp) Whipple, Jamestown, ND; 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 infant daughter, Sandra, 3 sisters, Myrlee, Elva and Margaret, and 2 brothers, Earl and Curran.

Funeral Service – 10:00 AM Saturday, May 14, 2016 in the Haut Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Suzie Orlopp , officiating

Burial – Ypsilanti Cemetery, Ypsilanti, ND

Visitation – 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home
