N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The sixth year of Teen Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be held at the Jamestown High School on Thursday, May 5th.
Approximately 103 students from the freshmen class will be participating in a disaster exercise. Students will act as the responders to a mock bleacher collapse scenario with JHS drama students acting as victims. Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist stated that all current students at the Jamestown High School have participated in the exercise in the past.
Students participating will utilize newly-learned CERT skills under the direction of local emergency response agencies and school staff. Because of the large amount of students, there will be two separate exercises and graduation ceremonies. All of the CERT program will be held at the Jamestown High School Gymnasium.
